I love makeup. I love the way I feel about myself when I’m wearing it. I love experimenting with new kinds of makeup. I love playing makeup artist and dolling up all my friends and myself for special occasions.
So, when it came time to figure out how I wanted to look on my wedding day, all I knew was that it had to look even more extra special than what I’ve done for other special occasions. Plus, it had to last all day (something my usual makeup routine failed at).
Hi blog friends. I know you thought I was done with all the wedding posts, but I have a couple more to share! (Hope you’re not sick of them yet.) Today I’m showing off all the printed details from our wedding. I designed everything myself and I spent so much time on these that I had to dedicate a whole post to them! Continue reading
Our ceremony was held outside on the deck of The Hawthorns Country Club at 4:30 in the afternoon on Sunday, September 1, 2013. I’ve wanted to get married outside in September for as long as I can remember. It’s the beginning of fall, my favorite season, but still warm enough to be outside. (A little too warm though as it was actually sweltering hot and humid that day.) Continue reading
Today I’m sharing some pictures and my sources for all my bridal accessories. I know I had a hard time finding examples and pictures of the accessories when I was looking for everything, so I thought this might be helpful for someone trying to do the same.
Hello and welcome to another wedding recap post! Today I’m sharing some pictures of our wedding venue and vendor details. I’m avoiding the ceremony post because it is going to be such a beast! In the meantime, I hope you’ll enjoy these pictures. Continue reading
Hello blog friends. Today I’m sharing some pictures of my lovely bridesmaids and dapper groomsmen. I was so happy to spend most of the day and weekend with all of my best friends, especially since very few of them live close by! Continue reading
Today I’m sharing a few pictures from our wedding. I’m going to break our wedding up into several smaller posts over the next few weeks, so I don’t overload on pictures and details in one post. So, I thought I’d start with some of my favorites of My Man and I taken before the ceremony.
My Man and I decided to a do a “First Look” and I’m so glad we did. Not only were we able to see each other and calm our nerves before the ceremony, but we also had a lot of extra time to get some great portraits of the two of us. We did our first look out on the golf course next to a weeping willow. It was a very pretty location and it was just us and the photographers.
Above, clockwise from top: me walking up to My Man, saying hello by wrapping an arm around him, sizing each other up (me with my hands on my hips saying “how do I look?”)
Lots of great pics of the two of us.
I love this little montage of pictures. It captures our personalities and relationship perfectly – funny faces and me cracking up at how hilarious My Man is. 🙂
If you’re debating on whether or not to do a first look I definitely recommend it. You get a private moment to see each other for the first time. The ceremony flies by in a whirl, but the hour we spent just the two of us (and our photographers) was perfect and much needed.
